 Long Beach Island is famous for 18 miles of the most beautiful white sandy beaches on the east coast.  Cast a line right from shore into the surf from most non-swimming areas and catch a striper or two.  We also have world class surfing.  You can check the Long Beach Township Beach Patrol for the designated surfing beaches, and also contact some of the local surf shops for surf lessons.  Lifeguard times may vary from town to town but a generally  are on duty from 10 am. to 5 pm., Memorial Day to Labor Day.




 





It's always 5 o'clock on LBI.  Weather you are looking for a family friendly dinner and cocktail at Buckalew's, party the night away, or anything in between, we have it.  But, if you still want more action, Atlantic City is only a 40 minute drive south.








For the kids and kids at heart, we have Fantasy Island Amusement Park with rides and games.  Thundering Surf Water Park, to keep you cool on those hot summer days, and several places throughout the island to play a round of miniature golf.

At the north tip of the island you can climb the 217 steps of "Old Barney", the tallest lighthouse in New Jersey.  This state park is usually open daily from 9 AM to 4:30 PM (weather permitting) from April 1 through October 31. The remainder of the year the lighthouse is open 9 AM to 3:30 PM, Wednesday through Sunday (closed Monday and Tuesday). There is a $1 fee per person to enter the lighthouse from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Children under 12 are free and must be accompanied by an adult.
